DESIGN MATTERS
The TRXFB3 is a wide-band transmitter that transmits UHF audio and receives an IFB audio signal over ZaxNet (2.4GHz) at the same time. Basically, it’s a transmitter and IFB audio receiver built into one bodypack.
It’s lightweight and durable, housed in a high-strength, impact-resistant nylon polymer casing. There’s also a pushbutton key at the top of the transceiver that’s user-programmable. Currently, it can be assigned as a push to mute or a push to talk key. If you’d like it to be something else, just call the factory and we can most likely program the key to meet your specific needs.
CONNECTIVITY
The FB3 has a 3-pin micro LEMO connector that supports 3.3-volt lavalier microphones, and a 3.5mm jack to support the earpiece.
ENCRYPTED AUDIO
The TRXFB3 transmits and receives a 100% digital modulation so both audio feeds are fully encrypted. Digital encryption is the only way to keep all audio transmission private. A digital transmission also provides audio quality superior to analog systems.
NEVERCLIP™
NeverClip™ is a standard feature of the FB3. It works by utilizing two A-D converters to extend the dynamic range of the transmitter to 126 dB, so there’s never any limiter distortion.
INTERNAL RECORDING
Audio is simultaneously transmitted and recorded to a removable microSD card using the highly reliable MARF (Mobile Audio Recording Format) which eliminates file corruption common to recordings due to a dead battery or early card removal.
ZAXNET™
FB3 is equipped with ZaxNet™, a long-range remote-control system allowing the user to change the frequency, pre-amp gain, sleep mode, and place the internal recorder in record, playback, and stop modes – all without ever needing to disturb talent.
ADVANCED FEATURES
The FB3 works with ZaxNet, Zaxcom’s 2.4-GHz RF network that distributes remote control commands, timecode, and IFB audio. With ZaxNet, one can remotely control transmitter settings such as gain, frequency channel selection, transport controls, and output power levels. When paired with an IFB100/200 and Deva or Fusion the units can also replay audio via a timecode reference giving production sound mixers the ability to replay and remix audio, creating a virtual multi-track playback and re-record system.
MODULATION CHOICES FOR YOUR ENVIRONMENT
The range will always vary depending on your environment, but you’ve got choices to optimize transmission for peak performance. Zaxcom High Density modulation (ZHD) increases the number of available channels from 4 to 9 for every 1 MHz of spectrum space, perfect for reflective environments like busy city streets. XR gives you the maximum distance in less dense / more controlled spaces.
POWER
The TRXFB3 runs for up to 7 hours on two AA lithium batteries. Runtime varies on rechargeables.
MHZ BANDS
FB3 is available in the following frequency bands:
“.5 band” (512-608 MHz)
“.6 band” (578-698 MHz) (not available in the U.S.)
Zaxcom Digital Recording Wireless Transmitters are protected under patent #’s: 7,711,443, 7,929,902, 9,094,636 B1, 8,835,814 B2 & 8,842,854
•The FB3 paired with any Zaxcom wireless receivers in Mono or XR Modes can be spaced as close as 400 KHz channel to channel
